oday Del City Stables specializes in horse care and boarding for "Only
a few Good Horses” as our slogan proclaims.
We only take up to 6 boarding horses (as the remainder of the stalls
are for our Clydesdale and rescue horses) Our large animal veterinarian is
only 3 blocks away as the crow flies. Sheri Thompson, the barn foreman, has
40 years’ experience in equine care. Rob Ray, long time Delaware resident,
is property manager. Clem Lee serves as trainer from April 1st to October
1st each year.
Lastly, the Stables are home to
Princess Leia, our Clydesdale, and the darling of Delaware Fairgrounds.
Leia amuses at the kids petting zoo, giving rides around the grounds in her
blue wagon or racing sulky. She was featured on the cover of the September
6 Delaware Gazette.
